The Highway Girl is Singer Songwriter Samantha Murphy. She started the show over five years ago while touring on her debut album somewhere between starving & stardom, which was voted as a top 10 for Village Voice’s Annual Pazz & Jop Poll.
The album contains an all star band including the rhythm section from Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill.
Performing professionally since she was six years old, she’s worked with Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald, Five for Fighting, Kylie Minogue, as well as having appeared on TV shows like The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Samantha’s latest release is Ring of Fire, from her forthcoming release Some Assembly Required, Produced with multi-Grammy Winner Ray Kennedy (Lucinda Williams/Steve Earle).
